Coach Alison Steiner Miller
Alison grew up competing in gymnastics and soccer, and running recreationally. As an adult, that competitive spirit kicked in and led to running races that increased in distance just to see what she could do. Always intrigued by triathlon, she took the plunge to celebrate a milestone birthday and quickly got hooked. With the encouragement of a few coach mentors along the way, she traded in her corporate communications gig for endurance coaching, and hasn’t looked back.
As a coach, Alison is passionate about helping athletes pursue their goals, whether that’s a finish line or a podium. Over 10 years of racing and coaching, she has worked with athletes of all ages and abilities, and enjoys the challenge of helping someone see – and strive to reach – their full potential. She is a fierce supporter of her athletes and teammates, and loves to encourage people, from smaller milestones along the way to the big accomplishments.
Alison’s philosophy focuses on endurance sport as a lifestyle rather than an event, and emphasizes how the discipline and lessons from sport expand into other parts of our lives. No two athletes are alike, and thus no two athletes are coached the same. She believes in training with intention and purpose, and is committed to finding the balance that complements and enhances each athlete’s life.
Alison has competed in events from 5ks and sprint triathlons to ultras and full Ironmans, earning numerous age-group podium finishes and Ironman All World Athlete status. She believes in setting big, crazy goals, working hard, and reinventing yourself as many times as you need.
Coach Alison is a Senior Level Coach with No Limits Endurance. She lives in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC area with her ultra-runner spouse, two XC-running teenagers, and a reluctant four-legged running partner.
